Welcome amateur writers (Academic writng, TOEFL iBT & IELTS students)

Hi, everyone!

This is my personal blog to help you practice writing an essay.
You will learn how to think, read and write that lead to your
personal or academic success.

Writing is a skill. This means that you can practice it, or we can say that
practice makes perfect. The more you write, the better fluency you gain.

Writing an essay is an advanced skill since it requires ideas, solid
foundation of grammar and massive size of the English lexicon. If you
find it is difficult at first, do not give up. I can do it, so can you. We will
learn and fix our pieces of writing together.

For the beginners, I would appreciate a 5-paragraph essay starting with
introduction whose thesis statement is included. Next, write the body in
three paragraphs, each of which must include one main idea and two or
three supporting details. Finally, end your essay with a concluding
statement in your last paragraph.

The easiest way to do so is to create an outline before you write so that
you can have coherence and unity. Cross out all irrelevant sentences.
Try to link ideas with transition words or linking phrases. Proofreading
is a must. Make sure that you answer the questions and write in sentences,
not fragments. It would be nice if you check your spelling as well.

I look forward to seeing your ideas on various kinds of topics given.
Don't worry about your first draft, it will be better in your final draft.
Also, neither need to be shy, nor get nervous to write about your
ideas, even though  I may sometimes disagree with your ideas,
I'm still open-minded and fair enough to hear your voice on
various issues.

Love
A. Phon

PS As I always say to every writing class, I strongly believe that
ones who can write can read while ones who can read may not write.
